WHO WE ARE

Affordable Air Experts is located in the upstate of South Carolina. We strive for top rated customer service and affordable prices for residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning services. Affordable Air Experts is a locally owned and operated company which provides quality service at an affordable price!

customer service is our priority

Actions, not just words, sets Affordable Air Experts apart in outstanding HVAC customer service.

It was easy for Affordable Air Experts to place themselves in the shoes of a customer because he once wore those shoes himself. Based on his experience with contractors, he decided to run his business differently – and cultivated seven keys to set the tone:

  1. We make scheduling appointments easy. Customers can make an appointment via phone or by e-mail. We also have automatic reminders that are e-mailed to you when it is time to schedule Preventative Maintenance.

  2. Polite, friendly and helpful human beings answer Affordable Air’s phones during regular office hours and a live on-call technician on the weekend hours.

  3. Many companies seemed to have lost sight of the personal touch about the time that “going online” became hip. We never understood why – and we place a huge importance on creating a connection with people who not only need help but often are in the throes of a crisis.

  4. Time and jobs are important and we understand this - we always give a 30 minute reminder to our customer of an appointment before it takes place or we arrive.

  5. Affordable Air Experts technicians ensure that customers know exactly what they’re doing at all times and why they’re doing it.

  6. We keep an up-to-date file on our customers’ air conditioners, warranties and maintenance history.

  7. We treat our customers’ homes as if they were an extension of our own. Even longtime customers with whom we are on a first-name basis know that technicians behave like guests who have an important function to perform – because they are and they do.

  8. Our technicians care about your home, we will always wear protective shoe covers when we enter your home.

While Affordable Air Experts appreciates accolades and testimonials, he’s familiar with the buzz taking place at backyard barbecues, garage sales and community pool gatherings at this time of year. This is why one of the greatest compliments we can overhear is, “Those air conditioning guys at Affordable Air – they’re so different from the other guys out there.” Find out first-hand when you call Affordable Air Experts for a service appointment – another way Affordable Air can help you keep your cool this summer.

Air quality when it’s for the most important place in the world.

Air quality when it’s for the most important place in the world.

AIR QUALITY

Indoor air quality can often have more pollution and contamination than in the air outside. The idea of spending hours and hours every day breathing in excess pollution is not very appealing, and neither is the idea that your duct-work could be circulating those contaminants throughout your home.

One common problem is loose or broken duct-work or a dirty blower wheel. Our techs are fully qualified to properly repair damaged or leaky duct-work and pull and clear blower wheels. Energy Star estimates that leaky, poorly connected ducts can result in a 20 percent air loss, so sealing carries the added benefit of improving your heating and cooling system’s overall energy efficiency.

For particularly pesky problems, we can recommend air cleaners today that will help you start breathing easier tomorrow.

MAKE YOUR HOME YOUR OASIS

A cool, comfortable summer starts with a properly functioning air conditioner. It’s easy to let the months or even years slide by with little or no preventive maintenance, but your system will operate more efficiently and reliably if you build a relationship with a reputable air conditioning repair and service company. Affordable Air Experts has been serving the local upstate of South Carolina, building these relationships and growing our business through referrals. With Affordable Air Experts, you can expect:

Refrigerant acknowledgement bulletin

In 1991, The United States Congress passed the “Clean Air Act” which became effective July 1, 1993. This Act prohibits individuals from knowingly venting ozone depleting compounds used as refrigerants into the atmosphere.

R22, are hydrochlorofluorocarbons, which have been proven to damage the earth’s atmosphere.  In the case of R22, which has long been the most widely used refrigerant in the world, the EPA has mandated this refrigerant will be eliminated completely by 2020. What options do you have if your system has R22 refrigerant (old Freon)?  R-421A is an ASHRAE-designated, SNAP approved non-ozone-depleting R-22 replacement. It is the only 2-component R-22 replacement available today. If a technician were to “top-off” an R-22 system with R-421A, they would essentially be creating a refrigerant mix that is not authorized by the EPA.  It is a Federal violation to knowingly mix refrigerants.    R-421A will not operate correctly if mixed with other refrigerants.  A technician can add R-421A refrigerant to a system once the R22 has been recovered.

·         Refrigerant leaks result in loss of cooling capacity and efficiency. This results in inadequate cooling and high cost of operation.

·         Ecologically, refrigerant leaks allow dangerous chlorine atoms (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) to be emitted to the atmosphere adding to the ozone depletion problem.

·         If an air conditioning system(s) is leaking refrigerant, it is also leaking oil, (due to the fact that the lubricating oils in the refrigerant). Just as driving an automobile with insufficient oil in the engine can cause the engine to cease and fail prematurely, loss of oil in an air conditioning system can result in a premature failure of the compressor.

Your air conditioning system, ________________________ (brand), ___________________________________ (model) ____________________________(serial number) has been diagnosed by our technician to be leaking refrigerant.

You as the homeowner have the following options/solutions in regards to your refrigerant leak. We at Affordable Air Experts suggest 2 sound solutions for refrigerant leaks. The first option is to locate and repair the refrigerant leak, this option is a good solution when the system is less than 10 years old and has the new R410A refrigerant. The second option is to replace the system with a new more efficient system that has a manufacturer’s warranty of 10 years.

  1. I am aware of the refrigerant leak and choose NOT to have the leak located and repaired. I understand that adding refrigerant to an air conditioning system with a leak is NOT covered by any warranty.

  2. I would like to have the refrigerant leak located, repaired, and have my air conditioner recharged with refrigerant in accordance with the manufacturers specifications. All leaks repaired today are warranted for a period of 1 year.

  3. I would like to purchase a new more efficient system, with the manufactures warranty.
